SOUTH BURLINGTON – South Burlington’s teachers and school board reached a tentative agreement on a one-year contract last night, ending a months-long period in which the city’s teachers were the only ones in Chittenden County without a contract.
The accord is slated to be ratified this afternoon by South Burlington Educators’ Association members. Details of the accord will be released upon ratification by both the union and the school board.
“We are pleased to have reached an agreement that lets us all continue South Burlington’s decades-long tradition of excellence,” said SBEA chief negotiator Eric Stone. “We have said all along that a settlement was in reach, and are grateful to the board for negotiating tonight until we hammered out an agreement that is fair to us and good for our schools, students and city.”
